If you did, no problem…Just scroll down to the end of the post and click on the link to get the replay of the entire 3 hours.  It was so much fun to watch.  Val invited some really interesting people like Gavan from the Healthy Irishman, Shiela from Live Well 360 and her own yoga guru Tom Morely.  Check out their sites and you will become a huge fan of their work like I have.  Great recipes, ideas on ways to live healthier mentally and physically!

So, Val spent a lot of time talking about the Action Hero Babe program.  Even though I already got a sneak peak this past weekend, it was great to here it spelled out simply and I can see how so many different types of women can benefit from this fitness program.

Some of the questions included:

Describe the workouts, are there 2 or 3 per week? How many times through each circuit?

There are 3 per week that she has you do along with the her on the DVD. Build, Burn, and Sculpt. Each workout has 3 circuits that you do upto 3x each – she specifies on the dvd which you do for how many times.

Is Action Hero Babe and the eating plan for women who are breastfeeding?

>Yes! I suggest checking with your doctor though…because if I recall doing rigorous exercise may increase your lactic acid or something like that…so check with doctor.  Maybe you’ll only be able to go through the circuits 2x!

Is the Action Hero Babe program good for getting rid of baby weight?

>>Yes and Yes! I can answer this one personally…The eating suggestions are very healthy and the workouts are just right to get you back in shape.  I will say that if you haven’t worked out in awhile try to take it easy until you build up some strength.

Ok…check out some more teaser video here and definitely get in on this program.  I think Val is offering a few body assessments, so if you want a little extra help to get you started, jump on it. She rarely offers them outside her program launches, so now’s the time!  Val can see exactly what’s going on with your body and what you might need to adjust in your diet and exercise to make it all start looking hot again.

Also, if you want to catch the live chat Val hosted for her launch of the Action Hero Babe Training System yesterday, here’s one clip from event:

I have been waiting for this day for several months now.

Mommy by day; Action Hero Babe By Night! Nice ring to that right?

She pre-released the program to her subscribers and now there is only 1 more day to get the discounted rates.  Tomorrwo the prices will increase, so check it out and see if it’s for you.

Ok…enough out of me…find out more directly from Valerie – visit: www.actionherobabetrainingsystem.com

Remember – only one more day before the program price increases.

Stay tuned for more information about the launch.

Since we are only days away from the official release of Valerie Waters’ Action Hero Babe training system, I wanted to offer you all a free report which talks about the reasons most diets fail.

Who is Valerie Waters and what is an Action Hero Babe? Think Jennifer Garner in Elektra or even in Alias. Think Rachel Nichols in GI Joe. Valerie Waters is the celebrity trainer behind these and many other hot hollywood women.

And by the way – did you see Jennifer Garner demonstrating the Valslides on the Ellen Show this week? These little toys are included in all of Val’s programs and they are amazing. Ok – click on the banner above to get access to the Action Hero Babe program before its official release on the 29th…

Check out the sneak peak for the Action Hero Babe Training system. I’ve already reserved my copy and am excited that this weekend I get to actually meet and workout with Valerie Waters herself!

Busy Moms pay attention to this short, effective workout.  Drop what you’re doing…unless it’s breastfeeding your newborn. And do this quick workout.  Here’s your chance to see one of Fit Yummy Mummy’s fat burning routines in action.

Boost Your Summer Fat Loss Results At Home in just 15 Minutes! Yesterday I busted the fact that you truly do NOT have a right to use the excuse Im too busy when it comes to getting your workouts in and sticking to them. 2 Reasons Why You Do Have Time: 1. You Want Results Yeah.results are not some magical, mystical event that you can wish, hope and pray for – you actually have to put forth some effort. A part of this effort comes from doing your workouts. The saying that gets me every time is that. we make time for the things we want to do. So if results are what you want – then do what it takes to achieve them and make your workouts as much of a Priority as a shopping trip to Target. 2. You DO Have Time Like I said in my Summer Survival Kit Video #3 yesterday – effective fat loss workouts are NOT anything more than 10-15 minutes. How? By using full body resistance training moves with intensity. Quality trumps Quantity when it comes to working out for fat loss. By choosing resistance training moves that work multiple muscles, by challenging those muscles and by working with intensity, you not only burn more calories during your workout – but you fire up your metabolism for the next 24-48 hours..muscle if your metabolism and this is the heart and soul of your ability to Get Results! Oh yeahthe bonus – - – workouts like this take a mere 10-15 minutes (not 60-90) so you are able to fit them in to the busiest of summer schedules and STICK TO your Workout Plan! For ya knowconsistency is the TRUE secret of fat loss! Change your workout plan up starting today! Give the Bikini Fat Burn At Home Workout a try and be sure you are sticking to the Treadmill-Less Intervals performing them AFTER your resistance training workouts. http://FitYummyMummy.com

Ok – who else has an event or vacation or reunion that they are preparing for…and want to look their best?  Did you just have a baby and want to look half way human again? We all have reasons to look our best.  Here’s one woman’s question on how she can start her own at home workouts after having a baby:

I am getting married at the beginning of March and want to look stunning! I have a 9 month old and have lost almost all of my weight from the pregnancy but want to have a flat stomach and thinner thighs for my wedding! Right now I weigh 135 and am 5′4. I want to get around 120 and have flat abs! Any advice is great and easy exercises to do at home are best since I am a stay at home mom but any exercises are well appreciated! Thanks and success stories are great too! I have a 31.5 inch waist right now and would love to be around 27 or 26.

Here’s the answer she got:

It is definitely possible with dedication. After I had my second child I also wanted to get into shape quickly. What worked for me is I go to a spinning class followed by a yogalaties class 3 times a week. The cardio in spinning melts off the inches and the yogalaties is strength training for your core mussels, which leads to flat abs and long lean mussels:) But remember none of it will work without a healthy diet! Good Luck and Congratulations!:)

Even if you haven’t had a baby in the past year, you may still have your own life challenges which it make difficult for you to start a home workout program.  Remember this very important factor in your home workout success — take it from us moms…. If you only have YOU to worry about, then make a decision, schedule your workout and do it.  If you are at home and like to watch an hour long show on one night, make that your workout time.  Workout while you watch the show.

In addition to starting to actually workout while you watch tv…dedication to healthier eating is going to get you to your goal much faster than just walking on the treadmill every day.

Use other people’s challenges as a way for you to realize your own obstacles and realize that everyone has to get over some type of road block.  Home workout success is only going to happen when you DECIDE to step over that block.

I wanted to share a few questions with you showing you that other people out there are looking for workouts to do at home too!  Knowing that others are trying to achieve results on their own is a good way to get motivation to start an at home program yourself.  I find that the key to my own home workout success is my connection to a group of people who share their challenges and successes!

Here’s the question:

Does anyone know of a site which offers dance routines, or workouts? any form of aerobic activity i can do in my own house? I don’t own a gym membership, and i probably won’t be getting one any time soon. When i get home from school it’s already dark i can’t go running outside. I need to find some sort of aerobic activity i can do for about 30 minutes and i wonder if there’s a site or a video on youtube on which i can watch a workout video? I live in the netherlands, so its not so easy to buy one over here. I’ve tried looking myself, but without success. any suggestions? thanks!

So, what’s the answer here?  Well, people often get bored with the same old routines or just don’t have access to new workout dvds or classes or even books!  Where do you turn to if you have limited resources? First the bad news…

Busy Moms I’m going to give it to you straight about getting in shape and staying in shape.  You have the biggest challenge of trying to workout out at home when you have kids of any age.  You are going to need to push yourself more than other people because of the constant interruptions from kids, husband, and other family.  And you are going to want to give up often because people just don’t understand why you are changing!   I am only telling you this, because I know first hand and I know what I had to do to get myself ready to succeed and keep going no matter what.

And now the good news… there is a step-by-step process you can follow to start your home workout program.

If you have a baby under 1 years – you can try to do your workouts when he/she naps.  You might also want to wait until she’s asleep at night.  Or…you can have a babysitter come in a few times per week so you can go out the gym and get a pedicure.  I highly recommend this because it’s good for your sanity as well.

I even have one pilates client who comes to her private sessions with her baby.  Since the baby is only 4 months old, not too mobile, she sits right beside her mommy during the workout.  I even offer rocking and pacifier services when necessary.

For moms with toddlers, do what I do – workout when they are awake, right in the livingroom with them!  Put on some music and workout! My little girl loves dancing around and playing when I’m working out.  Keep your eyes open though because at any moment you could have a little one crawling underneath you or trying to crawl on top of you!

For busy moms with kids who go to school – try to workout the second they leave the house.  If you have to head to work yourself – then you’ll need to use your lunch break to get some exercise in.

Here’s what I did when I finally made the decision to get in shape for real — baby or no baby – you have to make a decision in order to call yourself to action.

1. Go Online – Find a mommy site that shares tips on everything from parenting to fitness.  Get in on the fitness and workout chatter.  See how other moms are doing it.

2.  Start a Journal – Not just a food journal, but a journal to workout your brain and get you ready for home workout success.  In this journal, do only 3 things –
Talk about What you Want to Achieve, Talk about what you are grateful for and then sure, write down your food and activity for the day.

3.  Read Inspiring books and watching inspiring movies.  I sometimes just flip through my old Shape magazines and ready workout fitness testimonials.

4.  Get your Kitchen in order and try to get rid of all the foods/snacks/drinks that aren’t healthy.  Go Shopping and buy only healthy food.

5.  Start By At Least Walking Every Single Day. After a Week add in some Lunges, squats, push ups and basic crunches.  If you aren’t sure what these are, look them up – there are many exercise videos available on youtube.

6. So you’ve got all the pieces kind of pulling together.  You are doing it, doing an at home workout in whatever moments during the day you have to yourself.

What’s next?

If you want a few ideas for one stop shops – providing you support, motivation, meal plans, home exercise routines, check out one of these complete home workout programs:

1. Valerie Waters – Start off with her Red Carpet Ready program if you haven’t worked out in awhile.  I lost a total of 10 inches and have kept it off (even lost more as I’ve continued to do her other programs!)  Make sure you join and stay in the Red Carpet Ready club for maximum benefits.  The women in this group are moms, in college, professionals, housewives from all areas of the globe.  Doesn’t matter what part of the day you are on–someone will be there to give you support if you are having a moment of weakness.

2. FYM Club – The Fit Yummy Mummy Club.  I’ve been following this site for awhile now and love mom Holly Rigsby’s approach to exercise and fitness.  She caters specifically to moms – with kids of all ages really.  Her FYM club is similar to the Red Carpet Ready club in that it’s a group of people doing her program, sharing stories, results, daily challenges and making connections with other moms.

3.Marci Lall’s The Rebound Workout:  I have been on Marci’s mailing list for awhile now.  He provides amazing consistent support to all his subscribers.  New workouts, motivators, and reasons why you may or may not be succeeding.  He’s there.  His Rebound workout focuses on short, effective fat burning programs – which combine diet and exercise in the home workout.  Check out the Rebound Workout.

Now that you have ways to get started, don’t hesitate.  Right now, stand up from the computer and start moving.  Your kids will thank you for being an active, in shape mommy who can always keep up with them when they need it most.

Ok, I recently started doing frog jumps and skater jumps and shuffling back and forth in my living room as a way to pump up my home workouts.  Then, I realized I could do another type of jumping…add in one of those old school activities into my at home workout.  So, I pulled my jump roap out of storage and decided to give it a try!  It’s now becoming my favorite part of my home workout program.  Use whatever type of jumproap you have, even one your kid’s rope — as long as it is long enough!   Here’s what you get by doing this quick jump roap routine — your heart rate up, it’s challenging, and the best part is that it is fun!!  I’m a big fan of the jump board on the pilates reformer and this gives me that same carefree feeling like I’m a kid again.  Try using a weighted jumprope or like I said, grab your kids rope – as long as it is long enough!Be sure to put on your shoes for this one – many people have weaknesses in their feet they don’t even know about. It’s better to be safe and as stable as possible.  So, put socks and sneakers on.  Also, when you jump try to land as softly as possible – softening at the knees as you come down.

Here’s the Basic Jump Rope Workout that I’ve been adding to my at home workout:

  • 20 regular pace – I do this with the kind double jumping in between swings.
  • 20 regular pace – I jump only once each time rope swings over – it’ll feel slower
  • 20 double-time pace – Try to speed it up but still doing the single jumps
  • 20 regular pace – Back to regular Pace
  • 20 right foot only
  • 20 left foot only
  • repeat 3-5x
*For interesting variations, change the position of your feet.  Do one set through with you feet in parallel just under your hips.  Do one set with you feet wider than your hips and feet/knees slightly turned out. Do one set jumping as high as you can and landing with softened knees down into a squat.

I try to do this circuit  somewhere 3-5 times depending on my energy level.  Don’t rest between unless you really need to.  Try working up to going through it 3x without stopping.  Then repeat the workout at least two more times during the day so you get a good amount of cardio in for the day. Try to build up to 10 or more cycles per session.

Some other variations that I throw in are a few of my favorite Valslide exercises like mountain climber, knees in, pike, 1 leg v-up.  For more information on the valslide, check out Valerie Waters website.  I use the Valslide every single day and it is amazing for getting in a quick, effective home workout program.  Stay tuned for a full review of Valslides and me doing a workout with them.  Even though this post is about the jump rope, I use the valslides every single day, so I will definitely talk about them in more detail.

Try out jumproping and see how far you can go with it!

One final note, ALWAYS check with your doctor before starting any diet or exercise program.  Jumping can be tough on the knees so it’s important to know that you have no issues in your knees, feet or hips before you begin!

The Eat Clean Diet book seriously changed the way I eat.  In this video you get to see the author share her own story of how she changed her eating to change her body dramatically.  I think everyone could use a little reminder that your home nutrition program is just as important as the workout routine you do.

After watching the vid, go get yourself the book and get the results you want, finally!
